As from 1st November 2020 Community Library Samford is in Hibernation while waiting for a new home and fund raising to build a dedicated building for ourselves to call home!
Keep up to date by following fb Community Library Samford – and our website too!
The Community Library Samford is an independent, not-for-profit, volunteer-run community library and community hub which:
- holds thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles
- supports multiple charities with donations of “overstock” resources including books for bush kids who often have zero reading resources.
- promotes reading
- encourages visitors and members to help complete the community jigsaw puzzle
- holds an annual Book Sale
- promotes local and global authors and readers through CLS website
- provides space for interest and charity groups such as Sewcial Wildlife and Sewcial Slow Stitch
- has established sustainable practices through art work creation in recycling those donations which may be too damaged for CLS use.
Books and a Cuppa:
When the library is open, all are welcome to drop in for a cuppa, a read and a chat, especially those somewhat older members of the local community.
We have comfortable chairs, tables and friendly people who give you a happy welcome to the library – a library where talk is encouraged – silence may be golden, but not in our space.
