The demolition of the old timber buildings at the previous CSIRO site is due to start by the end of the July. This work needs to be done to make space for our new Samford Community Hub.

Talking of space – we have a space, on the management committee of the Community Library Samford. The position vacant is for a treasurer.

Do you have some financial literacy skills, enjoy paying attention to detail, like working with a friendly community group as a volunteer with a commitment to being an active member of a dedicated team? Love a chat and homemade cake for morning tea, then the Community Library Samford has space for you and your skills.

An efficient, easy to follow, up to date system is in operation for this Not for Profit organisation with Deductible Gift Recipient classification. A full induction will be provided so if you have an interest in filling this space in this growing community group  please contact the Secretary (Wendy) via email – communitylibrarysamford@gmail.com.

Many of your youngsters may have played at the old Samford Rangers Football Club at 23 Richards Road. The Samford Rangers have agreed to partner the library in sharing this clubhouse so the library has a temporary home until the Samford Community Hub is complete. This will allow us to continue to offer books and other items to our library members. We will also have our Yarn Crowd, Samford and Surrounds Boomerang Bags, Helen’s Basic Sewing, Lucie’s Repair Café for re-designing used clothes and our writers’ groups back in action at this site. We are busy setting up at the moment but when we officially reopen, we will let you know our new hours of operation.

So, while we have an empty space in the treasurer’s chair, we are looking forward to filling the Ranger’s club room space with books and other items so you can come to visit and return or take out more books with us soon.
